What is inertia??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Inertia is a measure of resistance to change in state of motion!!... for example if an object has big inertia.. then it will be more stubborn to stay in the same state as it is (either state of motion or state of rest) inertia is a measure of mass... more mass more inertia.. this can be easily verified with an example if a train is at rest.. its very difficult to make it move.. why? cause big mass big inertia.. its very stubborn and wants to stay at rest.. similarly when its in motion.. remember spiderman went all out trying to stop it.. !! on the other hand.. if a bicycle is at rest.. you can easily make it move.. or make it stop(if it was already moving).. cause smaller mass.. smaller inertia..!! there are many many examples of inertia!!.. but this is the basics!
