Someone please help me answer these two questions??? In both "Marriage Is a Private Affair" and "A Meeting in the Dark," young men fret that their fathers will disapprove of their potential wives. Compare these two stories by looking at how the personalities of the young men and their fathers help to shape the eventual outcomes. Examine how white people and black people regard each other in "No Witchcraft for Sale," "The Moment Before the Gun Went Off," and "The Prisoner Who Wore Glasses." How do they help to teach and support each other, and how do they fail? Think about what each group is trying to protect and when it withholds something from the other.

In Marriage is a private affair and Meeting in the dark both of the sons are upset at their fathers. In the first story, the son has refused to take a third wife which the father says is custom in the tribe. This causes the son to leave the hut and live with his bro. But in Meeting in the dark John is more scared of his father, who is a tribal medicine man who cures snake blindness. If John does not use his scholarship the father threatens Johns girlfriend's family with this. Both stories end tragically because both break up families.
