What's the difference between a plane and a hyperplane?

I read Wikipedia and other stuff I found on the Internet but, I don't understand anything as much as I want to.

I am looking for a very simple, straightforward, fundamental answer.

All I think I understand is that a hyperplane is a (n - 1) dimensional object in R^n.
