What is the best approximation of angle A, given cos A = .578? 30.03° 35.31° 43.89° 54.69°

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats a little over half; what angle has a cosine of 1/2?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

|dw:1354910587587:dw|

OpenStudy (amistre64):

.... um, is that in degrees or radians? cause in degrees that would be a little bigger than 60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Should be degrees

OpenStudy (amistre64):

hmm, seems odd to me, but its still the one closest to 60 degrees :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ahh, i see my confusion; as the degrees get bigger, the cos value gets smaller; so yeah its a little shy of 60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks so much! i have more questions after this if you could help

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ill be around, but if they are similar to this i would suggest getting comfortable with the unit circle for sin and cos values
