Where is the Endoplasmic Reticulum and what is its function? Please Help. :)

Endoplasmic Reticulum functions is to transport proteins through out the cell, It forms an interconnected network of tubules and vesicles that is used for transporting them proteins made by the ribosomes . Sometimes ribosomes are attached to the ER, this then called rough ER and is involved in the synthesis of proteins and is also a membrane factory for the cell, while smooth endoplasmic reticula are involved in the synthesis of lipids, including oils, phospholipids and steroids, metabolizing of carbohydrates, regulation of calcium concentration and detoxification of drugs and poisons.
It can be found throughout the cytoplasm of the cell !!
