how would you explain how a child got cystic fibrosis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So first, we today know that cystic fibrosis is inherited. It comes along with a disease of the autosomes, so it doesn't depend on the sexual chromosomes. The liquid in, for example, your liver needs to be liquefied but the ion pumps in case of an inherited fibrosis, don't work right and there is no gradient of chloride so the exchange of water by osmosis doesn't work that fine. The liqued in your liver will get sticky and the organs can't work right anymore.
