Summary: The Loyalist’s Letter is an important piece of history. In the letter, the writer discloses that the British didn't really believe the colonists would take up arms against them. The author also reveals the supposed size of the the opposing armies, and casualty rates. It is interesting that the colonists attempted to form a blockade of Boston and thus starve the British into leaving. Another thing that was written in the letter was the idea that such a blockade tactic would be futile, since the Loyalists had sufficient supplies. Tolerance was shown when the king offered to pardon all those who would quit the rebellion, with the exception of the leaders. This letter is an important piece of history.
