Denny usually averages 150 customers per day in his store. On a special customer appreciation day there were 250 customers. What was the percent increase in customers for the special appreciation day? Please explain.

Try it yourself, I'll let you know if you get it correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok! Thanks! Let me see... 0.6 %

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're close. You need to take the answer you get out of the formula (New amount-Old amount)/(Old amount) and multiply by 100 to get your percentage

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Want the answer? Or do you want one more shot at it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will take one more shot! 60%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is 66% I'm not exactly sure where you are getting 60% from. Mind showing me your work? I can help d-(^_^)z

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok! I want to thank you for helping me so much! I really really appreciate it! 250-150=100 100/150= 0.6 then the six keeps going until there is no more room on the calculator...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly! Nicely done. I'd simplify a decimal like that (Called a repeating decimal) to two or three places. So 66%, or 66.6% Both are correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh ok! Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem. Message me if you need anything else. Good luck!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!
