sec^2x-1/sin^2x what does this match with? sinxtanx or sec^2x
\[\frac{ sex ^{2}(x)-1 }{\sin ^{2}(x)}\]
correct?
yes sir
is there a trig rule with \[\sec ^{2}(x)-1=?\]
yep the pythagoream identiy tan^2x + 1 = sec^2x
so then we would have: \[\frac{ \tan ^{2}(x) }{ \sin ^{2}(x) }\]
yes n this is where im stuck
hmmmm \[\tan ^{2}(x) = \frac{ \sin ^{2}(x) }{ \cos ^{2}(x) }\]
\[\frac{ \sin ^{2}(x) }{\cos ^{2}(x)} divided by \sin ^{2}(x)\]
Does that make sense?
not really :/

omg..everytime its a new way to find the answer how am i supposed to remember all of this??? and idk where to go from there

after you have to do it a few hundred/thousand times it finally starts to make sense. PS - I use to (possibly still) despise Trig. So many rules and you have to see patterns and try to make sense of it.

and ......
I am in Calc I right now and it is a challenge with the Trig.
Still There?
thank you and yes i got it i had to look back up and figure out that first picture u drew for me made sense!!! youre right, i wanna be a mechanical engineer so i better get used to this lol
1/cosx2 woulda been sec2x
haha, yes. How many semesters of math do you have?
Correct!
Lol i'm a senior and precalc is only a 2 semesters and i'm already on the second semester. my finals are next week and this is how far we got :( it was easy at first now its sooo hard
