Equiano’s greatest fear when boarding the ship..? I am reading Equiano’s narrative and I believe his greatest fear was if ten thousand worlds had been my own, I would have freely parted with them all to have exchanged my condition with that of the meanest slave in my own country. but what exactly does that mean? I don't seem to understand what he meant by that.. and if that wasn't his greatest fear maybe you could help me?
