I don't want to simply give out answers but here's a few links that should get you to the correct answers. I know this is a lot of information to plough through so I'll try to get you started: Origins of replication are important, promoters are where the RNA starts to be transcribed but this isn't where the protein starts from: this is the first AUG which codes for a methionine amino acid. Note also that RNA continues long after the end of translation (ie. after the stop codons). Best wishes, check back with me if you can't get your head round it all http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNA_replication#Origins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcription_%28genetics%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Translation_%28biology%29
