The Bryant family and the Martin family each used their sprinklers last summer. The water output rate for the Bryant family's sprinkler was 35L per hour. The water output rate for the Martin family's sprinkler was 25L per hour. The families used their sprinklers for a combined total of 50 hours, resulting in a total water output of 1400L . How long was each sprinkler used?
okay so these are always awkward to set up. sometimes you just have to do it a few times to tweek it. with this one, we know the two rates (will be used as leading coefficients) and the total number. plugging everything in should get something like: 1400L=50hrs*(25m+35b) where m is martin family and b is bryant family.
Total volume: 35t + 25 ( 50 -t ) = 1,400 L
oh shoot. you got me chlorophyll.
i just move too quickly sometimes, its great to have someone double checking.
