multiply and write the answer without expondents (2x10^5) x (2x10^6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first, multiply out those tens. 10^5 is 10x10x10x10x10=100000 10^6 is 10x10x10x10x10x10=1000000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you'll want to finish inside the parenthesis with the 2s to get 200000x2000000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then do that final multiplication to get 400,000,000,000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you, my next problem is Simplify (8a)^-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you familiar with the rule that says a negative exponent means you can switch it to a denominator and a=make it positive? (or visa versa)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with that, we can get 1/(8a)^2 a much prettier problem. just square out that 8a and you're done!
