OpenStudy (vortish):

simplify the expression assume that all the variable represent nonzero numbers 4(x^7z^2)^0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anything raised to the zero power is= to one so you'd end up with 4*1=4

OpenStudy (vortish):

thanks rory

OpenStudy (vortish):

so that is the answer 4*1=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup it follows the rules of order of operations, simply everything in the parenthesis first, then simply everything affected by the exponents. the 4 isn't affected by the exponent so it remains untouched out front, while everything inside gets turned into a 1 from the 0 exponent.
