A ramp with a one-meter distance from edge to edge reaches a height of 0.643 meters.  What is the value of the acute angle? I am so stumped Im pretty sure its sine because that angle looks like a ramp

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

draw a picture I'd assume the angle is the one the ramp makes with the ground |dw:1355121054400:dw| you have the opposite side and the hypotenuse. Which trig ratio would you use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes Its 40 because the the big angle is 140 so the little angle must be 40 to make it add up to 180!

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

nope a triangle has 3 angles... so if one of them is 90, then the remaining angles add to 90.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help me on this one Which of the following is a true statement for 0° < < 90°? Atan = -tan B tan theta = -tan(180° -theta ). tan theta= tan(90° -theta ) d. none of the above
