Name the special quadrilateral formed by each set of tangram pieces
|dw:1355222612839:dw|
i dont think so
i see
but its a special quadrilateral
idk its in my notes i just copy down notes
A parallelogram?
why?
because the opposite sides seem to be ||
4 sides equal
If all the 4 sides of a ||gm are equal, them it makes a rhombus!
Look, both rectangle and squares are ||gms .. And, a square is a rhombus too!
@Colcaps I think you've missed something out of the description. This could be any four sided shape. If there's no more information, like that the two triangles are equal or something, then it's just a general four sided shape.
If you look up the def of a rhombus, then it says *A rhombus is a parallelogram with equal side*
^ @AriPotta
A rhombus with right angles is called a square!
so the figure is a rhombus?
As far as I know, yes, it is :P
It's a rhombus if the four outside lengths are the same and the triangles are the same. If only the triangles are the same but the four outside lengths are different, then it's a parallelogram.
|dw:1355137312115:dw| if a = b then it's a rhombus, and a parallelogram otherwise. If the angle x is 90 degrees then it's a rectangle (and a square if also a = b).
