What sugar does RNA have that is different from the sugar in DNA?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r in rna stands for ribose sugar, while d in dna stands for deoxy ribose, a ribose without oxygen.

imron07 is correct that the difference between ribose and deoxyribose concerns oxygen. The difference is that the hydroxyl group on the 2' carbon in ribose is a hydrogen on the 2' carbon in deoxyribose. There are oxygens in the sugar - phosphate backbone though.
