Solve the combined inequality and select the answer that best describes the graph of the solution. 3x – 7 > -10 and 5x + 2 < 22 Answers: open dot at -1, open dot at 4, and shaded between the numbers closed dot at -1 and 5, shaded between the numbers closed dot at 1, open dot at 5, and shaded between the numbers none of the above

OpenStudy (amistre64):

there are not "=" parts in these are there?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if the inequalities have \(\ge~or~\le\) parts in them then there is going to be a closed dot, if the "equal" part is missing then its an open dot. that should narrow down the options

so it'd be an open dot and either the first or last choice, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x-7>-10 And 5x+2<22 3x>-3 5x<20 x>-1 x<4 then take the intersection of the two So the answer would be -1<x<4

thanks so much
