A bag contains one red and two white marbles. Two marbles are drawn in succession without replacement. Find the probability of the first marble drawn is red and the second is white.

OpenStudy (zehanz):

Split up this problem into two smaller ones: 1. Draw one marble from the bag with one red and two white marbles. What is the probability that it is red? 2. You now have a bag with one red and one white marble. Draw one marble. What is the probability that it is white? Now multiply these two probabilities to find the answer to the whole problem!
