Choose the graph below that has an undefined slope. (See attached photos)
A
B
C
D
An undefined slope is where the line is vertical. This is a result of the formula for the slope where slope is "m".\[m = \frac{ y _{1} - y _{2} }{ x _{1} - x _{2} }\]The reason the vertical line has an undefined slope is that for any 2 points on the line, the "x" values are the same and the denominator will give "0", and therefore "undefined".
@tcarroll010 i know all of that i just need to know, which is the answer, A,B,C,D
Well, you DO have to do a little work here. You have to look at the 4 graphs and analyze them. I'm not sure if you are aware, but at Openstudy, both tutors and students get in trouble for just giving or asking for answers. Otherwise, no learning takes place. I already gave you enough to get the answer. It is really easy from this point on.
@tcarroll010 so would it be B
Do you know what vertical and horizontal and slanted mean? It is vital that you know what these mean, not just for school, but for going throughout one's day-to-day existence. This is very practical and necessary. I'll give you some hints. An elevator goes up and down, that vertical. An escalator goes on a slant. A "pedway" at the airport or a sidewalk is horizontal.
@tcarroll010 okay, now would it be D
@tcarroll010 i did the work, i just need you to check my answer?
@tcarroll010 what i got it! is it A?
