Write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form that is parallel to the line y = 3x +2 and passes through the point (5, 2). A. y = 3x – 5 B. y = 3x – 13 C. y = 3x – 1 D. y = 3x + 2

OpenStudy (nubeer):

when lines are parallel they have the same slope.. so m = 3 , (5,2)

OpenStudy (nubeer):

now use this formula y-y1= m (x-x1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know how i dont know any of this

OpenStudy (nubeer):

m= 3, x1 = 5 , y1 = 2 just plug these values into the formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no help at all bro i dont know this

OpenStudy (nubeer):

ok lets start plugging in the values. y- 2 = 3 (x-5) now just open the bracket and multiply rest is simple arithmatic.

OpenStudy (lstrasmann):

@somebodys_heartbrake did you get the answer yet? or are you waiting for someone else to solve it for you?

OpenStudy (lstrasmann):

\[y - 2 = 3(x - 5)\]

OpenStudy (lstrasmann):

what would you do to solve for y?
