Help with poems? I need to write a poem about what you do when you’re not sure what you should do next.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that the best poems come from the heart and when u least expect it your poem will come to you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start it with a question and then come up with answers throughout the peom... example: What shall I do next? I could read or write, If my heart says yes. Or draw a picture of a bird's nest. I could sing and dance and do my best. Or I could sit here wondering... What shall I do next?

Thank you, so much. I was wondering if you could help me incorperate some metaphors/similes into my poem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hm... okay. What shall I do next? I could write a book like Mark Twain, Or paint a bright purple sky at night. Or I could sing like a bird without a name. Or sit here waiting for an answer as I hold you tight...

Thank you, I had meant the poem I had written, but still, thank you.

Try lengthening the phrases... (As I sit, I think to myself) This will allow you to input metaphors and similes more easily. Elaborate on each part. If you are talking about a person/place/thing, describe it (a soft and gentle dove). This also will help. Use like/as to compare things. (Writing like Mark Twain). :) Good luck.
