a blood test shows that someone has a higher-than- normal WBC count. What does that indicate?

Higher than normal WBC counts mean there are more than what is considered a normal measurement of white-blood-cell to red-blood-cells in a bit of blood. So having more than normal means you are sick, anemic (Low red blood cell count), have a lymph disorder, or some sort of leukemia.
