ummm the most obvious answer is 13, which is 34 = 2x + 8 but the sides opposite the angles aren't equal... so you can't equate the angles... and you can't prove congruency... I'd say 2x + 8 < 34 since the side opposite is shorter... 13 < 16 so solving 2x+8 < 34 gives x < 13 which means it must be 12... hope it makes some sense....
