If the perimerter is 56 and each opposing set of sides are of equal length, and side AD = 16, you know side BC also equals 16. To find the other set of sides take 56 - (16+16) = 24. Divide that by two to get sides BA and CD which are both equal to 12. Area of rectangle is length times height which in this case will be 16 x 12 = 192.
