Solve x2 + 9x + 9 = 0

OpenStudy (natalieee):

Is that suppose to be 2x+9x+9=0 ?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

I think teh first term is: x^2 If the left side can't be factored, then use the quadratic formula.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tha is what i was thinking too

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Have you tried solving yet? Can the left side be factored?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you will not be able to factor you need to use the quadratic formula \[x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\] with \[a=1,b=9,c=9\]
