Geometry Question! picture attached. What is the perimeter of this figure https://media.glynlyon.com/g_pal_2011/7/img_parallelogram_quiz.gif

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

It's a parallelogram, so the opposite sides have equal length, just like a rectangle. That means the other two sides are also 5 and 8. So you just add all four side lengths together, or: P = 2*5+2*8

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would the area be 35?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

P=26, but how about Area, wouldn't be 35

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

oops, my bad. 26. haha

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

10+16 = 26

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha i was like the only other answer is 26, so it must just be a mistake

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

haha, yeah my bad, sorry.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Oh, you were right about the area being 35 in your earlier post too, i thought you were talking about perimeter.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Don't forget units: P=26yd A=35yd^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya, i wont forget thanks
