Where did I go wrong in this problem? 4. Simplify the expression. (–2 – 2i)(–4 + 6i) (1 point) (a) 8 – 4i (b) 8 – 12i (c) 20 – 4i (d) –4 – 4i

I got number c. What did you answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I attempted FOIL. I turned it into 8-12i+8i-12i^2 8-20i+12 20-20i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I haven't answered it yet. could you tell me how you got there please?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

Your second step has a mistake: 8-12i+8i-12i^2 8-20i+12 <--- -12i + 8i = -4i, NOT -20i
