I need help on figuring out a solution of an equation!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[4(3-x)^{\frac{ 4}{3 }}-5=59\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 5 and -11 but that doesn't match any of my choices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

–5, 11 5 11 –11 These are my choices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in this case since you have choices, you could plug any of those in with x, and see which one is true! we can start with -5 4(3 - x) ^ (4/3) - 5 = 59 4(3+5) ^ (4/3) - 5 = 59 (12 +20) ^ (4/3) - 5 = 59 22^ (4/3) - 5 = 59 22^ (4/3) - 5 = 59 can you do the rest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I can.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty sure there is a mistake in your response because nothing matches the choices if I do it that way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh whoops. but you get the point right? plug it in and see which one equals 59:) i hope i helped.. sorry for the confusion.
