I need help with this .. no clue whatsoever how to solve it. I suppose it should be easy, but I really don't know what to do. :/ "The mean score for 10 students on the chemistry final exam was 178. However, one teacher had made a mistake and recorded one student's score as ten points less than the actual score. What should the mean score be?" Any help would be appreciated.. and yes, I know what mean is, just no clue how to solve this. (; thanks. xx

dam i forgot aout averages

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what was mean average again?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

if the mean is 78 for 10 students then \[78 = \frac{x}{10} ... or ...x = 780\] so the sum of the scores is 780 is a student receives an extra 10 points the then the total of the scores is 790... whats happens to the mean.... 790/10 =
