I don't know if you are allowed to use calculators but I believe this is a binomial pdf problem
the probability that the student knows any of the 26 words is p=14/26
then on a calculators binomial probability density function (ti 82 is binompdf(n,p,x))
sum up the probability that x=8,9,10 and i believe thats your answer
