Write an equation in point-slope form for the line through the given point with the given slope (-10, -6;m=-5/8 Choices: y – 6 = (x – 10) y – 6 =-5/8 (x + 10) y + 6 =-5/8 (x + 10) y + 10 =-5/8 (x + 6)

hartnn (hartnn):

the general form is \(y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\)

hartnn (hartnn):

where (x1,y1) is the point and m is slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is the second to last one. Simply plug them in. The first one u can simply get rid of because m does not equal -5/8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also what hartnn says is true. That is the original/correct way. But when given the multiply choice questions it may be easier to simply plug them in.
