in a parallelogram one angle is 9 times the size of another find the measure of the angle 16,180 18,162 20,120 24,134

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

In a parallelogram, opposite sides are congruent. This means there are only two possibilities about the angle measures: 1. If the parallelogram is a rectangle, all angles measure 90 degrees. 2. If the parallelogram is not a rectangle, two angles have one measure and two angles have a different measure. You have case 2. Also, in a quadrilateral, the sum of the measurements of all interior angles is 360. Let smaller angle measure x. Then larger angle measures 9x. The sum of the measures of all 4 angles is 360, so you have x + x + 9x + 9x = 360 Solve the equation for x. That will be one measure. Then multiply it by nine to get the other.
