Please help! The second angle of a triangle is three times the first and the third is 12 degrees less than twice the first. Find the measures of the angles.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

let the 1st angle = x then the 2nd angle = 3x the 3rd angle is = 2x - 12 so the 3 angles add to 180, the angle sum of a triangle x + 3x + 2x - 12 = 180 this simplifies to 6x - 12 = 180 solve for x. when you know x you will be able to calculate the 3 angles.. listed above.
