State the range of the function: f(x) = 5ex + 1 A) (0, ∞) B) (1, ∞) C) (-1, ∞) D) (-∞, ∞)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it e^x?

OpenStudy (zehanz):

I suppose \[f(x) = 5e^x +1\] For very large (positive) x , e^x becomes very large as well. Times 5 and +1 also help ;) For very large (negative) x, e^x tends to 0. Multiplying by 5 does not prevent this. Because 1 is added, f(x) goes to 1. I think you can see what the answer is now...
