What's a thermistor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Resistance of thermistors vary significantly with temperature , more than normal resistors. Thermal + resistor = thermistor . they are made of ceramic or polymer.

You can call it a kind of temperature sensor, as its resistance changes with temperature , so voltage around its terminal is also a function of temperature.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A thermistor is a device that has a negative coefficient in relation of heat to its Ohm value. The ohm value or resistance goes down as temp goes up.This is different than how electricity normally move through a conductor where heat increase's the resistance in a circuit or normal temp sensor.

Just think of an electrical resistor.
