Two factory plants are making TV panels. Yesterday, Plant A produced 8000 panels. One percent of the panels from Plant A and 4% of the panels from Plant B were defective. How many panels did Plant B produce, if the overall percentage of defective panels from the two plants was 3% ?

Find out how many of plant A's panels were defective 8000*0.01 then times that number by 3 to work out the number of total defects. once you have the total number of defects and plant A's defects you then. total number of defects - plant A's defects gives you plant B's defects and you know that 4% of some number will give you plant B's defects Divide plant B's defects by 4 and then times that number by 100 to give you Plant B's total number of panels
