x^2-64

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x-8)(x+8) = x^2 - 64 so you take both of the polynomials and equal them to zero to get your answer. x-8 = 0 so x = 8 and x+8=0 so x = -8

These are perfect squares so it comes out to (x-8) (x+8). Anytime that the second number is a perfect square you just have to square it and then its easy.

the answer I arrived to is: 4(x-1)(x+1)
