any point that is equidistant to the endpoints of a segment lies on what of the segment?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you had a line that started at say x=0 and ended at x=2, what point would be the same distance to both of those?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep. if you had a line that starts at 0 and ends at 10 what point would be the same distance to those?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and both of those are the midpoints to the lines right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so any midpoint of a line will be the same distance to either end point of that line, so your answer is the midpoint

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohk. thanks. helps alot!
