Use Pascal’s Triangle to expand the binomial. ( 2x + y)^6

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

you must be knowing pascal triangle, dont you ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I do know the basic triangle, but I just don't know what I do when it is "2x" and not just "x"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know the (x+y)^1 power type triangle

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

let 2x= X now you should be able to expand (X+y)^6 using pascal triangle. lastly, substitute, X for 2x .. this should help..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I think I got it. is this right? (2x)^6+6(2x)^5(y)+15(2x)^4(y)^2+20(2x)^3(y)^3+15(2x)^2(y)^4+6(2x)(y)^5+(y)^6?
