Related Rates Caculus Question . One ship A is sailing due south at 24 miles per hour and a second ship B, 48 miles south of A, is sailing due east at 18 miles an hour. (a). At what rate are they approaching or seperating at the end of one hour? (b) when do they cease to approach each other and how far apart are they at that time? What equation should I set up for this?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

It might be easy to write your known's first. Anything that says per hour means it's changing. Therefore, that's your d/dt.
