Which of the following units of volume would be the best to measure the amount of water in your swimming pool? liter milliliter nanometer kilolite
LITER
There are 4 liters in a gallon, so really just try to think of it in terms of that. milli means 1/1000 th of a liter so measuring with these would be pretty tiny. nano is even tinier, it's 1/1,000,000,000! kilo means 1000 so for our assumption that 4liters = 1 gallon we can also say 1 liter is 1/4 gallon Translate that over to kiloliters and we see that 1 kiloliter is about 250 gallons. How big is 250 gallons? Well, maybe you've seen propane tanks that look like this: http://www.permagas.com/graphx/propane_tanks_500gal.jpg Those are usually 250 to 500 gallons which seems pretty good for measuring the size of a pool yeah?
