How to factor the polynomial x^4-100 and graph it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know it goes up on both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also, the degree is 4, so it would have 3 turns

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can factorise it by noticing this is the difference of 2 ssquares

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would you do that with x^4 though and not just x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x^2 -a^2) = (x+a)(x-a). So in this case we have (x^2)^2 and 10^2. ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well what do I do with that???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to graph it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so have ((x^2)^2 - 10^2) which is (x^2-10)(x^2+10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I have it now thx man
