Help step by step please! State the horizontal asymptote of the rational function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wats the function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{7x^2-3x-9}{2x2-4x+5}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bottom row; correction 2x^2-4x+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so for the horizontal asymptote when the highest degree( the highest exponent on the two equations are the same), the horizontal asymptote becomes the coefficient of the highest degrees, so in this case, 7/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good enough?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it makes sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if degree is greater on the denominator, horizontal asymptote will be 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if degree is greater on the numerator, there is none

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if same, do what I did above.
