During the Haitian Rebellion, France struggled to maintain control of the island. Why did Napoleon Bonaparte feel that it was so important to keep the island under French rule? Answer It was a valuable source of slave labor. It was centrally located in the Caribbean. It was a valuable source of goods like coffee and sugar. It gave the French an advantage of position over the Spanish.

I'd probably go with the third choice, that it was a valuable source of goods like coffee and sugar. By the time of Napoleon, Haiti was producing almost more than half of the coffee available in the world and nearly as much sugar. It was a huge moneymaker for the French.
