Evelyn rode her horse along a triangular path. The distance she traveled south was five times the distance she traveled east. Then she rode directly back to her starting point. What is an expression for the total distance she rode? Im an 8th grader so can you please explain in detail..? i dont understand this.

Let's assume she went east first. So she starts somewhere, and then travels an unknown distance to the east. Let's call this unknown amount X.
