what is the first step in simplifying the expression (2-3x4+5)^2

OpenStudy (abb0t):

\[(7-3x^4)(7-3x^4)\]

OpenStudy (abb0t):

I added the 5 + 2 to get the seven. then i rearranged it to get 7-3x^4. Since the whole thing is raised to the 2, I separated it so that i could multiply the quadratic.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1)square 5 2) add 4 and 5 3)subtract 3 from 2 4)mult 3 by 4 which one do i do first????

OpenStudy (abb0t):

1. add the 5 and 2 2. cross multiply u don't subtract 3 from 2 b/c 3 contains x. You can only do arithmetics on like terms.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

im not sure if your 3x is raised to the 4th power or not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah but i have to pick one of those 4 its multiple choice
