Write 0.0000474 × 10^11 in standard form.

What would you have to do to go from: 0.0000474 to 4.74 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How many times would you need to multiply times 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lets say you would need to multiply it n times. Since the original question said you would be multiplying times 10 eleven times, since by changing it you've already multiplied it n times, then it won't be 11 anymore, it will be 11 minus the n times you've already multiplied it. Solution: 4.74x10^(11-n) where n is how many times you had to multiply times 10 to go from 0.0000474 to 4.74
