I need help with the problem shown at http://pbckt.com/pK.uZDSho .
"The quotient of 5 and r" is a really stupid way of saying "the answer to 5 divided by r" *. So, we have 5/r. Now, it say 3 less than that. In other words, subtract 3: 5/r - 3 -------- *In one parse it is r/5... which is why I think this is stupid.
so the quotient of 5 divided by r minus three?
or, do uve a better way of saying it?
Is it, maybe, x/5-3 ?
@ghazi
sorry, i5/r-3?
\[3<\frac{ 5 }{ r }\]
mind explaining ^ @ghazi
well this is what your question says :) 3 less than ratio of 5 and r (basically quotient of 5 and r)
o yeah. but wht about 5/r-3?
no, because it says less than so put < sign
okedoke, lad:)
yea old lady
@ghazi No, what? Where does it say to put the < sign? That would be "3 is less than the quotient of 5 and r" and not "3 less than the quotient of 5 and r". That one little "is" makes a huge difference (no pun intended).
Besides, this is an *expression*, not an inequality.
well question says 3 less than , please read it
Please read my whole reply, thank you.
you said 3 is less than and question says 3 less than , well it is kind of story where answer is judged by perception , so this is what i believe
old lady what do you think @userneedinghelp12
um, i agree with muntoo, but.
Perception?? This is an algebraic EXPRESSION. EXPRESSION. abc + def Not an EQUATION abc = def Not an INEQUALITY abc < def
i m sorry i made u guys argue
lol a false conclusion of a valid argument
(I am not shouting, BTW, there's no way to bold things in this...) @ghazi Your last reply makes no sense... @userneedinghelp12 I'm the guy in this comic: http://xkcd.com/386/
thats too funy :D that gained u a fan.
its cool, may be i am wrong but i am guided by what i believe so i cant say i am right and @muntoo it makes no sense because it needs logical sense to understand my statement that is philosophy sorry :)
thanks to both of u guys.
