Some are and some aren't. It depends on what grade you are in usually. Mine is free.

There are lots of programs that are free for middle schoolers. I think, if you wanted an actual school to go to, you could do K12 where you can work at your own level. It's an alternative to public school, so if you don't want that try something like KhanAcademy. It's not a school but you can take courses for free and it teaches things from 6th grade all the way through college, and it's a pretty good program.
